Abstract
By using advanced analytics, the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) realized a significant reduction in stock-out rates (a 266% reduction at one facility for targeted medications), a reduction in expired waste from Automated Dispensing Cabinets (a 66% reduction at one facility), as well as decreased inventory carrying costs. URMC also made great strides in mitigating staff frustration and confusion, resulting in improved efficiencies in pharmacist and technician workflows related to inventory replenishment.
