Features and Benefits

GuardIVa™ Antimicrobial Hemostatic IV Dressing is an IV site care solution that combines the antimicrobial protection of chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG), a well-known antiseptic agent with broad spectrum antimicrobial and antifungal activity, with the proprietary hemostatic agent which controls surface bleeding from percutaneous catheters and vascular access sites.

Hemostasis
Hemostasis

An in vivo animal test showed that, compared to gauze dressings, wounds treated with the GuardIVa® Dressing significantly reduced time to hemostasis and had up to 7 times less blood loss.3

Healing
Healing

An in vivo animal study showed that wounds treated with the GuardIVa™ Dressing healed at a rate comparable to untreated wounds, unlike BioPatch™.3

Antimicrobial
Antimicrobial
  • Demonstrated in vitro antimicrobial efficacy against test organisms known to cause CRBSIs.3
  • In vitro testing demonstrated sustained antimicrobial efficacy for up to 7 days. A greater than 4 log reduction in microbial count was observed for all test organisms.

  • The GuardIVa™ dressing has not been clinically tested for its ability to reduce catheter-related blood stream infections.
